Military Chapel

The chapel is located in the oldest stone building in the outskirts of Jihlava, built in 1782 at the instigation of Emperor Joseph II by Hetman Max von Motschitz. For military hospital purposes. The chapel was not included in the original plans. It was created only in 1916 during the First World War. These are unique paintings combining church and military themes. The paintings stylistically combine the late Viennese Art Nouveau with elements of Impressionism. In the current building, the chapel is deconsecrated and functions as a representative meeting room for the purposes of the police school. The chapel is not normally open to the public. Only once a month there are regular guided tours organized by the destination company Brána Jihlava.
